Return to the Hills for the Pike familySummer 2014
The opportunity to enjoy a hills lifestyle in close proximity to the city was a drawcard for Daniel and Angela Pike to purchase at Blackwood Park.
Having both grown up in the Adelaide Hills, Daniel and Angela were drawn to Blackwood Park to build their family home because of its sprawling hills views, coupled with its easy access to the city and coast.
With their home currently under construction with Rossdale Homes, Daniel, Angela and children Ashleigh and Zachary, hope to be in their new home by Christmas.
“We’ve had our eye on Blackwood Park for a while, after having previously built at Mitchell Park,” Daniel explains.
“Angela grew up in Kangarilla, and I originally lived in Oakbank, so we are looking forward to being back in the hills and bringing up our kids here. We love the fact that the city and beach are an easy drive as well.
“From the second level of our new home, we can see between the houses and see down the valley and out to the ocean. As the weather gets warmer, I’m looking forward to seeing some beautiful sunsets from our balcony.”
Daniel says the family’s new home, once completed, will ‘tick all the boxes’ for the growing family.
“Our new home will be more than double the size of our first home with four large bedrooms, three living areas, including outdoor alfresco area, home theatre room and upstairs rumpus room, so we’ll all have our own space.”
“I love to cook, so the kitchen has been an area of focus for us. I think one of my favourite things to use in our new kitchen area will be a huge butler’s pantry.”
“We wanted to build a home that ticks as many boxes as possible for us so that we can be there for some time.”
Daniel says that the family has been exploring their new neighbourhood and looking forward to making use of the nearby walking trails in the Sturt Gorge Recreation Park.
“We went for a wander the other day and discovered a huge reserve and lake with walking trails just a short distance from our block.”
“It felt like being in the middle of Mount Lofty. We’re looking forward to having such stunning scenery right on our doorstep.”
